Charles R. Hodge, 86, of North Little Rock passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017. Charles was born in North Little Rock on June 22, 1930 to Carroll and Effie Hodge. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He retired from The Buckeye Cotton Oil Company and The Southern Cotton Oil Company after 47 years at the North Little Rock Mill on Buckeye Street. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas and loved music, both country and gospel, woodworking, fishing, and building race cars. He was a member of Big Rock Masonic Lodge #633, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and member of Eastern Star Jewel, Chapter #362.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris Parks to whom he was married for 43 years; his brother, Arlie R. Hodge; sister-in-law, Sandra Swinke Morrison; granddaughters, Latoshia Hodge Scallion, and Brittney Gayle Hodge.
He is survived by his son, Charles R. Hodge, Jr. and wife Linda; daughter, Sandra E. Johnson and husband Charles; grandchildren, Charles David Hodge and wife Jaime, Alexis Renee Hodge, Tiffany Woodall and husband Mikel, Dustin Lee Johnson and wife Haley, Heather Johnson; and grandson-in-law, Sammy Scallion; great-grandchildren, James Wesley Hodge, Gwenivere Moseley, Seth Scallion, Samantha Scallion, Ariel Scallion, Malachi James Johnson, Cameron Johnson, Addison Johnson, Layton Staggs, Keighly Staggs, Madison Staggs, and Taylor Hodge; brother-in-law, John Morrison; and Marian Stoll and family, his dearest friends for many years; as well as many other friends, family, and loved ones.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Smith - North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Mark Stripling officiating. Family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m., Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Edgewood Memorial Park. Online obituary at www.SmithFamilyCares.com .
