Charles Edward "Big Ed" Hendrick, 68, of Sherwood, beloved son, brother, father and uncle departed this earthly life peacefully to join our heavenly father on December 3, 2015.
He leaves to cherish his memories, brother, Jim (Fran) Hendrick of Radcliff, KY; children, Nikki Hendrick of Little Rock, Jason (Lindsey) Hendrick of Benton and Cory Hendrick of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Zachary, Kameron, Stephanie, Kaden and Josie; sisters-in-law, Bernice Hendrick and Ginger Hendrick; nephews, Jay, John, Christopher and Robert; nieces, Laura and Lillian and a host of relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorothy (Nahlen) Hendrick; brothers, Robert and John Hendrick.
He was the third of four sons. He was born in Morrilton, AR on November 8, 1947 and grew up in Little Rock, AR. Ed was a graduate of Catholic High School and was a proud member of the "Rocket" Football and Basketball Teams. He attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, AR where he was a devoted member of the Arkansas Razorback Football Team from 1966 - 1967 until an injury forced him from playing the sports. He was an avid and unwavering Razorback fan and supporter throughout his life. He was a man who enjoyed many sports; Ed found great joy in coaching many youth sports teams over the years and sharing his passion of sports with others. He enjoyed golfing with both his loving family and his many friends over the years and never missed a chance to hit the golf course. He loved animals throughout his life and took care of many including his beloved dog Sophi.
Ed never met a stranger, a wonderful trait that helped him in his various fields of Sales over the years. He was a kind and gentle soul who was always there for his friends and family, He will forever leave an empty space in the hearts of those who knew and loved his gentle spirit.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 10th at Little Rock Funeral Home with Reverend Scott Patton officiating.
