Charles Haynie

June 1, 1932 — May 20, 2016

Charles Haynie

The earthly life of Dr. Charles R. Haynie, Dentist, ended on Friday, May 20, 2016 with his family by his side.

Over the last ten years, Charlie discussed Jesus and how he looked forward to being in heaven. That has become a reality.

In his early life, Charlie enjoyed adventure in the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and bird and game hunter. He even enjoyed duck hunting for a time. He traveled many miles to experience his passions.

He was a husband, Dad, and friend to many, including his patients, who were drawn to his gentle and caring spirit.

Charlie was born in Camden in 1932 to Dottie and Bracy Haynie. Following college he attended dental school in Memphis. After serving time in the Army, he set up his practice in Little Rock, where he practiced from 1956 to 2006.

At age 40, he married Beth Ward and began a new chapter in his life. His quiver was full with four children around, Sherri Lindsey (Kenny), Andy Ward (Lori), Bracy Haynie (fiancée, Lauren) and Sarah Clark (Andy). Then there were grandchildren, three girls born to Sherri and Kenny - Jenna, Abby and Olivia, two boys born to Andy and Lori - A.J. and Tyler, and two children born to Sarah and Andy - Evangeline and Andrew.

Charlie said many times that he had a good life. To that, we as his family say, Amen.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church Missions.

A celebration of Charlie's life will be held in Horne Hall at Immanuel Baptist Church on Monday, May 23 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a reception.
