Our community bids farewell to a man of faith and a humble servant of God, Charles Arthur Farrar, who peacefully passed away on April 20, 2024, at the age of 83. Born in Elmhurst, Illinois, to the late Arthur and Florence Farrar, Chuck's journey touched countless lives with his unwavering devotion and gentle spirit.
Chuck's life was a testament to love, beginning with his beloved late wife, Sue Carol Farrar, who preceded him in death. He also joins his twin brother, Lawrence “Larry” Farrar, in eternal rest. Chuck leaves behind cherished memories for his sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Donald Hendricks of Hot Springs Village, as well as numerous extended family members and friends who mourn his passing.
A man of profound love and charity, Chuck dedicated twenty-one years of his life as a deacon, serving at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Little Rock and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in North Little Rock. His love touched all who knew him and had no limits, extending even to his cherished canine companion, Marsh Sue, who brought him joy, companionship, and, at times, lessons in humility and patience.
His journey through life took him from the skies, where he found fulfillment working for the airlines and where he met his soulmate, Sue, to his later years as an insurance adjuster, and then into retirement. Beyond his service to the Church and his work, Chuck found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast; he proudly supported the Arkansas Razorbacks in many of their sports, including baseball, basketball, and football.
Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects during visitation at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at 6:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 10:30 AM at the church, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery in Hot Springs, AR, at 1:00 PM.
Chuck's memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of faith, love, and humility will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those he touched.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” - Matthew 5:4 (NABRE).
