Charles Crawford

Charles Crawford, a dedicated family man and respected member of the community, passed away on March 4, 2025, in Maumelle, Arkansas. Born on February 16, 1951, in North Little Rock, he spent his 74 years of life building a legacy of faith, love, commitment, and hard work.

Charles enjoyed a commendable career, dedicating 22 years to management at Target Warehouse, where his leadership and work ethic earned him the respect of his colleagues. He was well-educated, graduating from North Little Rock High School in 1969 and later obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Central Arkansas.

A man known for his candidness and quick wit, Charles was often described as opinionated and a tad ornery, traits that endeared him to many. His vibrant personality and straightforward manner made him a cherished friend to those who knew him. Charles had a passion for life that resonated in his many interests. He found joy in the thrill of horse racing and casinos, spending countless days at Oaklawn, Tunica, and many more. An avid golfer, he cherished the time spent on the greens in his younger years, and in his later life enjoyed Sunday afternoons watching the PGA Tour. Most of all, he enjoyed family vacations, traveling for AAU baseball and volleyball tournaments with his children, and attending dance recitals for his granddaughter created a treasure trove of lasting memories, reflecting his love for adventure and family. He made it a priority to volunteer his time at church and his children's’ schools, serving as an usher, school board member, and numerous other positions. Additionally, he was often found tending his yard, taking pride in his home, or bringing together loved ones around the grill.

He was particularly proud of his family, having been married to the love of his life, Melinda Crawford, for 40 remarkable years. Their relationship began as a "dare" to go on a date and blossomed into a lifetime filled with love and shared experiences. Together, they raised three children: Nathan, Patrick, and Catherine. His role as a father and “Pawpaw” to Evelyn and Lydia brought him immense joy, further solidifying the foundation of love in his life.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Geneva and M.W. Crawford, and his brother, James Crawford. He leaves behind a loving family that includes his wife Melinda, son Nathan (Miranda) and his son Patrick, daughter Catherine, and granddaughters Evelyn and Lydia, and many other close family members and friends.

Charles Crawford's legacy of love, laughter, and dedication will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
