Charles Conine, age 87, of Amity, died Monday, January 3, 2011. He was born on December 23, 1923, at Amity, the son of Andrew Conine and Burley Neal Conine. On September 19, 1942, he was married to Carrie Elmeda Wilson. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a charter member of the Amity Assembly of God Church and was retired from the Arkansas Highway Department. He is survived by his wife, Elmeda Conine of Amity; three children and their spouses, Freddy and Debbe Conine of Maumelle, Regina Conine of Hot Springs and Keith and Debbie Conine of Little Rock; six grandchildren, Dr. Shayne Conine, Allison Burks, Mark Conine, Heather Vaughn Bankhead, Brittany Conine and Brian Conine; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 6, 2011, in the Amity Assembly of God Church with Bro. Jerry Fagan and Bro. John McAnally officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Jones Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Johnny Conine, Mark Conine, Brian Conine, Christopher Burks, Greg Fagan and Eddie Wilson. Memorials may be made to the Amity Assembly of God Church, P.O.
