Charlene Walker

Charlene Williams Walker (Mimi) our precious mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed from this life November 7, 2021 at 95 years of age. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, her twin sister Dean Parker, and her son-in-law John Wright.

Left to cherish her memory are her son Fred Walker (Carolyn), daughters Cathie Wright and Melinda Treat (Roy). She is also survived by grandchildren, Todd Walker (Tracy), Matthew Walker (Tara), Robyn Wright, Kristin Euton (Gary), Katie Cox (Lance), Amber Higgs (Justin); 12 great grandchildren and 2 nephews, Larry and Jimmy Parker.

Charlene spent her childhood in North Little Rock and graduated from NLRHS in 1944. She married the love of her life Clarence Walker on July 22, 1944.

She was a remarkable lady who had an abundance of energy. She took great joy in being a mother and grandmother. Her home was always a place of love, warmth, beauty and hospitality. Her kindness, love and generosity were unconditional and unwavering.

If love could have prolonged her life, she would have lived forever. Each family member has unique memories of her. She was fun loving, spunky, and a legendary southern cook.

Forever in our hearts! Always our inspiration! Mimi is at peace! In her honor, we will continue our love for each other. For many years she was an active member of Levy Baptist Church and most recently First Baptist Church of Sherwood.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 10:30 AM with funeral services at 11:00 AM at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Interment with immediate family only will follow the service.

Honorary pallbearers include Gary Brasher, Fred Glover, Joe Lacy, Mel Buddenburg, Hancel Keaton, Jim Manning, Jim Melton, George West Jr.

The family is requesting that masks be worn at both visitation and funeral service.
