Charlene W. Henderson, 86, of Little Rock, passed away January 12, 2015. Born in Little Rock to Charles and Birdie VanNess Wright, she was a member of Lifeway Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher.
Preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters, she is survived by her husband of 68 years, Hubert H. Henderson, Jr.; sons, Stephen H. Henderson and wife, Susan of Sherwood and Gerald A. Henderson and wife, Debbie of Leavenworth, Kansas; six grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.
As a military wife, Charlene traveled the world. She accompanied her husband to Germany for eight years, and later spent two years in Turkey with him. She thoroughly enjoyed these tours and learned to speak their languages.
Visitation will be Monday, January 19 from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Services will be held Tuesday, January 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Freddy Parker, followed by interment at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
