Chandra Loomis

Chandra Leigh West Loomis, 41, of North Little Rock passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017. She was born April 15, 1976 in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
She remains loved by her husband, Peter Loomis and their children, Pierce, Kalinda and Raina; parents, Judy and James West; brother, James West and his daughter Lyric Leigh; grandmothers, Sybol Johnston and Lou West; uncles, Rick Johnston and Ron West; aunt, Alice West; great-uncle, Ronnie Wood; great-aunt, Shirley Best; mother-in-law, Marty Moore; brothers-in-law, Byron and Justin Moore; and numerous extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Gene Johnston and Everett West; great-grandmother, Myrtle Johnston and great grand-parents, Clora and Johnnie Wood.
Chandra was a wonderful and independent daughter, a loving wife, a firm but fun-loving mother, a fiercely protective sister, a dutiful granddaughter, and a loyal friend. It makes no difference what your relationship was to her, she was always direct, up front and straight talking. She had a quirky sense of humor that she gleefully found in each of her children. Chandra was a very talented artist and writer. Had she chosen, she could have gone far with either art or writing. Instead she chose marriage, children and Facebook! On second thought, Facebook became her outlet for both art and writing. Many people eagerly awaited her next posting of Raina's ("The Fashion Diva") next colorful outfit or it might have been another of the family pets' antics. Facebook won't quite be the same without Chandra.
Chandra proudly found she had passed on her talents, quirky sense of humor and loyalty to her children. Pierce is a talented artist. Kali is a writer and talented musician. Raina inherited her mother's sense of fashion and her loving nature. All three children have their mother's independence and intelligence with un-restrained imaginations. She will be greatly missed and always loved. Chandra remains in our lives through comforting memories and daily reflections of her in each of her children.
A Chandra Loomis memorial fund will be set up for her children with Arkansas Federal Credit Union.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 8, 2017 followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., at Faith Baptist Church, 109 Tanglewood Drive, North Little Rock, Arkansas.
