Cecil "Hodge" Rowton, age 74, of Glenwood, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018. He was born on February 10, 1944 in Aubrey, Arkansas, the son of Denver R. Rowton and Norma Lee Cooper Rowton. He was preceded in death by his parents; and five brothers, James, Dago, Bobby, Charles and Clayton. Hodge was considered a good cook and wine maker. He enjoyed going to auctions, watching the Razorbacks, taking care of his yard and visiting with friends at the coffee shop. He always loved being around family. He is survived by his wife, Janeice Caldwell of Glenwood; eight children and their spouses, Melissa Calqueiro of Florida, Tyrone and Holly Rowton of Mount Ida, Brian and Morgan Rowton of Florida, Patricia and Darrell Green of Colorado, Dianna and Chris Self of Kirby, Byron Brunt of Amity, Chad Brunt of Hot Springs and John Brunt of Glenwood; many, many grandkids and great-grandkids; three brothers, John Paul Rowton of Conway, Albert "Possum" Rowton of Lonoke and Jackie Rowton of Hot Springs; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 7, 2018, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood. Visitation will be Thursday, 1:00 PM until service time, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Buck, J. R. Bishop, Tripper Rowton, George Brizendine, Geraldo Contreias and Shane Coffman. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
