Catherine Ferguson

Catherine (Cathy) Lorene Brigance Ferguson of Beebe, Arkansas passed from this life and into the arms of her Heavenly Father on September 12, 2022. She was 69 years old. Cathy was born on October 13, 1952, in Medina, Tennessee. Her parents were Lawrence Neal Brigance and Lucille “Lucy” Lorene (Wade) Brigance. She is preceded in death by her parent; one brother Neal; and her husbands, Rodney Grantham (Beebe) and Ronnie Ferguson (Guy).

Cathy graduated from Blytheville High School, Blytheville, Arkansas in 1972 She grew up in Blytheville and would talk fondly of working at Jeri-Lyn’s Donut Shop. She would get in by 6:00 a.m. and prepare the dough for the day. Cathy thought a lot of Jerry and his wife, Linda.

Cathy married Rodney Grantham in 1991 and they were married until his death in 2009. She married Ronnie Ferguson in 2014 and they were married until his death in 2019.

Cathy is survived by her sister-in-law, Fran Hightower (Steve), her niece Tessa and nephews Blue and Jason; sisters-in-law Debbie Carpenter (Wayne); and Faye Richardson and nephew Shane Richardson, and by many cousins and friends.

Fran said of her sister-in-law that Cathy and Rodney were inseparable, and Cathy liked anything that Rodney liked. They did some traveling together and Cathy picked up on Rodney’s love for motorcycles.  They went on motorcycle rides together and Cathy eventually got her own motorcycle. They loved their dog, Little Joe and cat, Granola.

Debbie said of her sister-in-law that Cathy would work side by side with Ronnie in his shop and garden and that she enjoyed going to basketball games with him. Debbie said that Cathy was one of the best people she had ever known.

Both Fran and Debbie said that Cathy was very good to their brothers.  She was kind, gentle and forgiving. She saw the fun side of life.
