Carwin Zoda Haley, 74, of Sherwood died on May 10, 2021, at his home. He was born in Royal Oak, Michigan, on October 23, 1946, to Zoda (Bud) Haley and Inez Davis Haley. He grew up in Sheridan and Benton, AR, graduated from Benton High School in 1964, and attended Arkansas Tech, where he was on the football team. Carwin then served in the Army and was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. His last and longest employment was as an electrician for the Union Pacific Railroad in North Little Rock.
Carwin loved playing and coaching baseball, spending time with dogs, and watching Western movies. He was happy when surrounded by family and friends and especially loved his two young grandchildren. His wonderful smile, laugh, and sense of humor will be greatly missed by many. He was a Baptist and an avid Bible reader.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John H. Haley and Gary Lee Haley, and by a nephew, Brian Haley. Survivors are his son Halden J. Haley of Cabot; his son Nathan Z. Haley (Cori) and their children Hunter and Hannah, all of Cabot; sister, Shirley Haley Russell (Charlie) of Fayetteville; sister-in-law Lavetra Haley of Beebe; nieces Starla Haley and Sherri Mattingly; nephews Shawn, Darren, and Brett Haley, Rocky and Ricky Kimbrell, and Kyle Russell.
Memorials in Carwin’s name may be sent to Arkansas Hospice Foundation at 14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, AR 72116.
Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home of Beebe, AR was in charge of a private service. Burial was at Antioch Cemetery in Beebe on May 15, 2021. www.smithfamilycares.com
