Carthel "Cart" Lee Wood

Carthel “Cart” Lee Wood arrived in heaven on January 21, 2023.

He was born and raised in Levy, Arkansas. He took great pride in his hometown and his family and friends that loved him so much.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sidney Wood; mother, Nolah Wood; sisters, Dorothy Moore and Betty Rachaner; brother, Haskell Wood (Jean); son, Brent Wood and his infant son Bryan Austin; his granddaughter, Kenzie Hess. He will be welcomed with open arms in heaven.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Toni Wood; granddaughter, Annie Laura; daughter, Sydney Hess (Tom); grandson, Hunter Hess (Kaycee); and great grandson, Noah Lee; brother, Jim Allen Wood (Nedra) and family; sister, Connie Cox (Gene) and family; he is also survived by brothers and sister-in-laws and many nieces and nephews.

We are thankful for the wonderful example he set before us.

For many years he worked in the sheet metal industry and then retired from the North Little Rock School District maintenance department. After retirement he spent his days with his grandchildren and family. He enjoyed the simple things in life and had a great love for nature and God’s beautiful creation. He was a good, good man and will be missed greatly.

Memorials can be made to Renew Ministry at AR Tech University and Camp Caudle.

Family will receive visitors at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St, on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 AM.
