Carroll Jester

Carroll Jester, age 66, of Amity, died Wednesday, January 5, 2011. He was born on May 16, 1944, at Arkadelphia, the son of Freddie Worn Jester and Birte Roselyn Fagan Jester. On August 19, 1968, he was married to Mary Evelyn Partridge. He was preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Isabella Jester; his son-in-law, Travis Davis; his brother, Carvel Jester; and his nephew, Trellis Jester. He was a 1962 graduate of Gurdon High School, Christian in his faith and a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves from 1965 until 1971. He worked in the transportation industry since 1969, working for the Missouri Pacific Railroad for twelve years and for the past fourteen years has been a faithful employee of Alton Bean Trucking Company. He enjoyed woodworking and was a devoted family man, whose happiest times were spent with his family and playing with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jester of Amity; one son and daughter-in-law, Brett and Carman Jester of Glenwood; one daughter, Candace Jester Davis of Arkadelphia; and three grandchildren, Austin Jester, Cameron Jester and Angel Jester. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 8, 2011, at the Amity First Baptist Church with Bro. John McAnally and Bro. Rick Mays officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be held in the Jones Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Gary Bean, Sr., Gary Bean, Jr., Tommy Bean, Randy Hardy, Danny Partridge, Steve Partridge, Brett Jester and Paul Ullrich. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Buck, Jackie Garner, Tammy Lyons and the employees of Alton Bean Trucking Company. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
