Carroll Prowse Colvin, 78, of North Little Rock died Monday, September 29, 2008 after a courageous 2 year battle with leukemia. He was born May 13, 1930 in North Little Rock. He graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1947 and was a graduate of University of Arkansas where he studied under Faye Jones as ?First Protg?e while obtaining Bachelor of Arts and Architecture degrees in May 1960. He served in the United States Air Force for 4 years, worked for Cromwell Firm, Colvin, Miller, Shireman and Associates and was the base architect at Little Rock Air Force Base retiring in 1999. He also worked part time for 17 years at JC Penney?s retiring in 1990.
Carroll was an avid history buff, gardener, target and skeet shooter and a master story teller receiving 6 ribbons at Garden shows for Arum. He reached the rank of star with The Boy Scouts of America.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Lee and Fannie Chleo Colvin. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Billie Colvin; daughters, Connie Smith, Phillis Westerfield (Eric), Carol Moore (Bryan); brother, Mackye Colvin; three grandchildren, Cara Ferguson, Patrick Moore and Sophia Moore; two great grandchildren, Hayden and Connor; three nephews, Michael, Mitchell and Mark and four grand dogs.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.
