Carroll T. "Tom" Boyles, 82, of Little Rock, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2009. He was born January 17, 1927 in Mayflower, Arkansas to the late Elmer and Mamie Boyles of Wye Mountain and was also preceded in death by a sister, Florene Mikoleit.
Tom was a 31 year Navy Veteran serving on numerous destroyers during WWII, Korea and Vietnam, retiring as a Senior Chief Quartermaster in 1974. He received his BA Degree in Political Science in 1980. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, life member of Magnolia Lodge #60, past master of Forest Park Lodge #747, a life member of the Scottish Rite, Fleet Reserve Association Branch 282 and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Doris Johnson Boyles; son, Richard Boyles (Kim); daughter, Dottie Boyles; sister, Ruth Turner and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend David Maynard officiating in the Chapel of Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct., (NW Corner of I-630 and Barrow Rd) Little Rock, Arkansas 72205, (501)224-2200. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas.
Visitation will be Monday, November 2 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
