Caroyln Poss

Carolyn C. Poss, 84, went home to be with the Lord May 9, 2018. She was born September 30, 1933 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, John F. Poss; her parents, Clay (Christine) Sanders; and sisters, Myra Hunt and Helen Stocks.

Carolyn was raised in Boston until her father's job with the Missouri Pacific Railroad brought them to Little Rock. After completing nursing school at Arkansas Baptist Hospital, she worked at MOPAC and Rebsamen Hospital in Jacksonville.

Most of her years were at the VA hospital from which she retired. She devoted 40+ years as an RN, caring for others and especially our Veterans. She was very active in her church, always volunteering where needed. One of her favorite events was working vacation bible school with her grandchildren, always making sure they knew how important the Lord was in her life.

Carolyn is survived by her 3 daughters: Sandy (Rory) Norsworthy, Nancy (Darrell) Krause and Karen Poss; 7 grandchildren; Rory Jr. (Carrie), Chrissy, Daniel (Sarah), Mindy (Chase), Becky, Taylor (Chase) and Jacob and 5 great grandchildren; Anna, Amber, Austin, Shiloh and soon to-be River. She spent many summers traveling from Alaska to Georgia and everywhere in between, making sure her grandchildren had countless memories with each other.

Services will be held at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home on Monday, May 14th. Visitation will start at 10:00am with services following at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Samaritan's Purse at www.samaritanspurse.org .
