Carolyn Sue Pedron, age 64, of Kirby, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2014. She was born on February 16, 1950 at Lamartine, Columbia County, Arkansas, the daughter of Cecil Cody "Buddy" Shackelford and Bettie Jo Adkins Shackelford. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dale Shackelford; and her sister, Jan Shackelford. She suffered for 14 years with MSA (Multiple System Atrophy), a neurological disease. Carolyn always put her family first and loved them very much. She worked as the Kirby High School secretary for over 20 years before her health forced her to retire. Her greatest moment was giving her heart and soul to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a member of the Kirby Church of Christ. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 45 years, James "Pete" Pedron of Kirby; her son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Jenifer Pedron of Kirby; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jaime and Shane Young and Jan and Joseph Suit, all of Hot Springs; her parents, Buddy and Bettie Shackelford of Waldo; her brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Shelda Shackelford of Magnolia; her brother-in-law, David McEwen of Louisiana; her grandchildren, Gunner, Zane and Jeb Pedron, Mia, Madeline and Bella Young, and Lilyana Suit; her nephew, Michael McEwen and his wife, Laurie; and her nieces, Michele Hill and her husband, Josh, Karissa Shackelford and Danyel Shackelford. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 3, 2014, in the Kirby Church of Christ with Bill Golden and Buddy Ray officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Bear Creek Cemetery at Kirby under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Danny Turner, Bob Ligon, Mark Ligon, Billy Wayne Funderburk, Donnie Reid and Ken Forga. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Yeargan, Blake Self and Larry Mantooth.
