She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 63 years, Ned Henry Stanley, son Jimmy Ray Stanley, daughters Naeta Nan Price and Amy Carole Stanley. Also, preceded in death by brothers James Collier Scott Jr, Vaughn Otis Scott; sisters Anna Alyce Jeffcoat, Mary Jane Porter, and Sandra Jo Mack.

Carolyn graduated from Elkhart School in Texas with the distinction of salutatorian. She went on to become a devout Christian on July 25, 1945, which proved to be the hallmark of her existence. She devoted her life to serving Christ, sharing that assurance, and witnessing to others at every given opportunity. The amount of people she led to Christ was immeasurable. She brought great joy, love, and compassion to all that crossed her path.
Over the years, Carolyn enjoyed many pleasures in life which included sewing, cooking, canning, and an avid love for gardening. She dedicated her life to serving others by sharing her abundance of fresh vegetables from the garden and providing her skills whenever she was called to do so. Carolyn was passionate about caring for others and making sure she brought love and joy to everyone she met. To know her was to love her. She had a gentle, quiet spirit, and a contagious smile that drew people to her; all the while remaining humble. Most assuredly, as she was welcomed through the gates of Heaven, Our Father said, “well done, My good and faithful servant.”
