Carolyn K. Raley (Memaw), 89, of Little Rock, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014. Born in Little Rock to Walter and Isabel Mattingly Keller, she was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Robert J. Raley; eight children, Anne Tyler (Bob) of Little Rock, Mary Straub (Phil) of Kansas City, Missouri, Joe Raley (Missy) of Springdale, Jane Oberste (Paul) of Little Rock, John Raley (Susan) of Plano, Texas, Sharon Bridges (Mike) of Maumelle, Patricia Lashley of Little Rock and Walter Raley (Lisa) of New Haven, Indiana; twenty grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers, Father Thomas W. Keller of Carlisle and Walt Keller (Ginny) of Florida, and her sisters, Mabel Cook and Helen Quinney, both of Little Rock.
Memaw loved to be surrounded by her kids and grandkids, especially during the regular Sunday pool parties at the Raley home. But those of us who know her have no doubt of her love of Jesus Christ and the sanctity of life from birth to natural death. Though we grieve her passing, we are heartened to know that she is now in the presence of God.
Rosary and visitation will be Sunday, May 11 at 7:30 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Thomas W. Keller and Father John Wakube on Monday, May 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery in Little Rock. Memorials may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church, 4000 N. Rodney Parham, Little Rock, AR 72212.
