Carolyn Madden Oakley, 77, of Conway passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018. She was born November 12, 1941 in Yell County, Arkansas to Felix and Audrey Madden. She went to Bellville High School where she excelled as a basketball player.
After graduation, she attended Draughons School of Business in Little Rock. She loved bopping to Elvis, "retail therapy" and traveling. Carolyn was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Conway, where she was lovingly known as "CareCare" by the many children she helped raise. One of her most treasured moments was being baptized in the Jordan River in Israel.
She is survived by her loving husband, Frank Oakley; children, Lisa (Paul) Bankston, Tammy (Scott) Pinney, Shelly (Blake) Barnes, Tammy (Bud) Fitzpatrick, Bill (Lisa) Oakley and Kelly (Dale) Zink; brother, Harold (Sammye) Madden; grandchildren, Lauren Pinney, Nathan Bankston, Tyler (Alexis) Pinney, Tristen Bankston, Dalton Osborne, Abigail Bankston, Garrett Birmingham, Ashley Oakley and Cameron Oakley; three fur babies, Priscilla, Miley and Mattie; and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Martha "Marty" Wills and brother, Gerald "Pete" Madden.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Antioch Baptist Church in Conway. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 19th at the church. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday at Earl Ladd Cemetery, Danville, AR.
