Carolyn A. (Hobbs) McEwen, 60, died Tuesday, October 16, 2007. She lived a diverse, full and wonderful life. She was taken from us much too early. She was at one time a building contractor, a rancher and a pre-need counselor for Griffin Leggett for almost twenty years. She owned a salvage company, C.H. and Company, and was co-owner of Sugarland Transport with her husband, Eric Austin McEwen, who preceded her in death. She was a kind, generous person, a wonderful mother and grandmother.
In addition to her husband, Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Prince Hobbs and her grandparents, Ray and Rebecca Moreland. She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca (Jones) Murphy of Enola, Arkansas; Gena (Jones) Dang of San Diego, California; and Jeanna Holland of Gravel Ridge, Arkansas; brothers, Steve Hobbs of Clinton, Arkansas; Mike Sharlon of Toad Suck, Arkansas; and Larry Craig of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; four sisters, Patti Tabulog, Toni Humbarro, Kathi Sharlon and Mari Goo, all of Oahu Hawaii; seven grandchildren; her mother, Imo-Gene Sharlon of Oahu, Hawaii; her best friend, Dora (Holloway) Bostic; and special friends, Sam and Anna Lou Ward of Clinton, Arkansas.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 18, from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock. Graveside Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 19 at Rest Hills Memorial Park in Sherwood.
