Carolyn Lazenby

Carolyn Jo Lazenby of North Little Rock, Arkansas went to be with our Lord on June 16, 2015 after courageously fighting off breast cancer for many years. She was born on May 3, 1949 in La Mesa California.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 44 years Larry William Lazenby as well as her mother Hazel Jennings and father Joel Jennings along with an infant brother Joel Jennings. She is survived by her son Blake Lazenby and daughter-in-law Kari Lazenby, daughter Jamie Lazenby Bernt and son-in-law David Bernt, brother-in-law Ron Lazenby and wife Toni, nephews Ryan Lazenby and Aaron Lazenby, cousin and very dear friend Callie Robinson and husband Jim, most recently her cherished grandson Whitten Lazenby and many other lifelong friends and relatives in Arkansas and California.
Carol graduated from Helix High School in La Mesa California in 1967. She went on to attend the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where she met her husband Larry and received a Bachelors degree in Education. Carol became a teacher of 3rd grade in the North Little Rock school district at Redwood Elementary. She didn't return to teaching school after her first born but later became a successful business woman managing real estate for more than 35 years.
Carol was a member and involved alumni of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She was active in many of her children's Parent Teacher Associations and eventually became President of the Arkansas Parent Teachers Association. She enjoyed playing golf especially in scramble tournaments with family members. Carol and family also became owners of thoroughbred race horses which created some fantastic time spent traveling together to Hot Springs, Louisiana and Oklahoma. She also enjoyed numerous trips to California to spend time visiting all her family. Some of the family's most cherished memories were made at their house overlooking Greers Ferry Lake in Heber Springs.
Carol was known by her friends and family to be funny and outgoing as well as compassionate and kind. Her most important role on this earth was undoubtedly as a mother and family leader where she consistently put others first and was the go to person for so many of her family and friends in times of need. She was always the person to seek out for advice, love, and unconditional support for her family and we are eternally grateful for her presence in our lives.
