Carolyn Jefferson, 71, of Beebe, Arkansas, was born April 8, 1940, at Beebe, to Miles and Beatrice (Hendrix) Young, and she died Thursday, November 17, 2011. She was a member of Mt. Arratt Baptist Church and a member of the Mother Board.
She is survived by three sons, Phillip Young (Rosemary) of Beebe, James Jefferson, Jr. (Amanda) of Wynne and Ross Jefferson (Annie) of North Little Rock; three daughters, Nita Chatman (Rickey) of Searcy, Tasha Whitney (Roger) of Searcy and Bridget Jefferson of Dallas; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Douglas Young, Sr. of Beebe, Curtis Young, Sr. of Batesville, Arkansas, Leon Young, Sr. of Little Rock, and Gene Young, Sr. of Mansfield, Texas and one sister for life, Claretta Ross of Omaha, Nebraska.. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James David Jefferson, Sr. and brother, Thomas Young, Sr.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011, at Mt. Arratt Baptist Church, with burial in Beebe Cemetery.
