Carolyn Irby

Carolyn Sue Irby, 79, of Greenbrier, Arkansas entered the pearly gates of Heaven January 11, 2022. She was born January 31, 1942 in Conway, Arkansas to the late Roy Penn and Eva Mae Hallums Irby.

She was a loving mother to her daughters, Rebecca Derrick and Laura Light; son, Michael Jones; grandmother to Michael (Laura) Bedwell, Christina (Josh) Watkins, Kayla (Andrew) Szewczak, Carol (Christian) Gowen, Darin (Taylor) Jones, and Layton Jones; great-grandmother to Ashten (Eliada) Howard), Chloe Bedwell (Austin Johnson), Wyatt Watkins, Ellie Watkins, Waylynn Szewczak, Gavin Gowen, Graceyn Jones and Gentry Jones; and great-great grandmother to Hayden Howard and Myla Howard. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Irby Junyor.  She loved her dog Max.

She is preceded in death by her sons, Jimmy Jones and Steven Jones; daughter, Jenny Jones; granddaughter, Sarah Bedwell; brothers, Robert Irby, Glendon Irby; half brother, Kenneth Irby; sister, Linda Hausen; and half sister, Evelyn Worm.

We would like to say how much we appreciate Hospice and Greenbrier Nursing and Rehab for all they have done.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Smith Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 Hwy 107). The family requests masks are worn at all times.
