Carolyn (Burnette) Flack, 75, passed away July 31, 2024. Carolyn was born May 22, 1949, to Harold and Melba Burnette. She was the sister of three boys: Jesse, Richard, and James Burnette. Harold was in the military and the family moved often when she was a child, so Carolyn experienced getting to know many places in the United States and Germany as well. Carolyn met the love of her life, Willis, and they married in 1973. They bought a home in Saline County, Arkansas because although she enjoyed getting to experience different locations, she knew she wanted a family and to put down roots. She gave birth and raised his two children in that home and still lived on the property when she passed.
Carolyn was generally a stay at home mom. She and Willis created a “pick it yourself” blueberry and blackberry farm where they taught their children the value of hard work. Unfortunately, Willis, her love, died in 1995, leaving Carolyn alone with two kids in college. She still managed to figure it out and reentered the work force. She eventually met and married her second husband, Ron Wells. Ron passed away in 2020 leaving Carolyn a widow for the second time.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Heather (Flack) May; son, Chad Flack and wife, Amber; grandson, Noah Flack; granddaughter, Savannah May; step granddaughter, Kinsley; and step-mother, Trish Burnette. She is also survived by her best friend- her dog, Buddy who was her faithful companion; her cat, Spike; as well as a host of family members, friends, and neighbors.
The family very much appreciates the love, care, and support many of her special neighbors have provided. Special thanks to her caregiver, Kelly Jackson, who helped Carolyn stay home instead of moving to assisted living, where she could do the things she loved like gardening, yard work, and planting flowers.
Carolyn loved her family, friends, and her church home. If she would want to tell you anything it would be – Make sure you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior before it’s too late.
