Carolyn Chapman

Carolyn Chapman, 77, of Beebe went to be with the Lord, June 7, 2017. She was born December 17, 1939 in Morrilton, Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-one years, Robert (Bob) M. Chapman; her mother and step father, Pauline and Cecil Shaddon; one brother, George Robinson, and grandson Steven Chapman, Jr.

She is survived by her five children, Robert Chapman, Jr. of North Little Rock, Bobbie Hicks (Tony) of Romance, Nancy Gardener (Allen) of Cabot, Steven Chapman and Paula Hadaway, both of Conway; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Carol was a young bride and military housewife. She learned how to golf and bowl in her younger years, and was pretty good at both. Later in life, she enjoyed spending time with her family at their cabin on Lake Conway, teaching her grandchildren how to fish, and cooking breakfast on the old cook stove. When they weren't at the lake, Carol and Bob enjoyed going to the casino; eating crab legs off the buffet was always worth the trip. During quiet times she loved to do crosswords, puzzles, and read books.

When Carol entered the workforce, she found a family with Arkansas Modifications/Hawker Beechcraft. She loved her job, took pride in her work, and always strived for perfection. Over the years, she learned sign language, from a deaf coworker, and helped out during company meetings. She retired from the company after 26 years. Retirement didn't slow her down; she hired on as a cashier at Wal-Mart in Cabot, before transferring to Beebe for the past seven years. She loved talking to her customers, sharing recipes, seeing old friends and making new friends. She had the opportunity to use her signing skills once again, bringing smiles to her customers.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in ICU at Baptist Hospital, Springhill, for taking such good care of their mother. Also, a special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and Hospice on the third floor for their kindness.
