Carolyn Sue Bunning

Carolyn Sue (Liggett) Bunning was reunited with her loved ones and daughter Julia (Bunning) Powell in heaven on May 31, 2023. She was born on February 21, 1940, to Thomas M. Liggett and Kathleen (McClead) Liggett.

 She grew up in Kansas City, MO and graduated from Northeast High School. She worked and retired as the secretary to the Director of the Central Region of the Federal Aviation Administration. She also worked as a paraprofessional in the schools in Ada, OK and in NLR, AR.

 The primary focus of her time and attention was taking care of her family. She was the ultimate homemaker and to know Carolyn was to understand she kept life in order.  She organized and planned her time and never stopped working until the plan was complete. She was a finisher. She lived to give to others with her talents and special gifts. She had been a member of Park Hill Christian Church, Victory Baptist Church, Levy Baptist Church, and Faith Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter. She is survived by David Bunning, Janelle (Stuart) Thomas, Bethany (Drake) Goodson, Richard (Hayley) Thomas, Rebecca Thomas, and Miles David Thomas.

Visitation is scheduled for Monday, June 5, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Ruggles Wilcox Funeral Home. 

Services are scheduled for Tuesday, June 6, 2023 beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Rest Hills Cemetery.
