Carolyn Arline Gray Glover Jackson of Greenville, MS, formerly of Ward, AR, passed peacefully to be with the Lord on August 14, 2021 at the age of 97.
She was born December 20, 1923 to Thomas Authur and Addie Edith Gray near Sylvania, AR. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Glover, her second husband, Marrice Jackson; three sisters, Gwynetta (pronounced Genetta) Gray, Ruby Balding, and Maysel Tucker.
She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Gwynetta Pope (Geary) of Fayetteville, AR; a son, Donnie (Lora) Glover of Greenville, MS; two step daughters, Pat Fesler of Utah, Joyce (Robert) Podratz of Arizona, and a step son, Kenneth Jackson of California. Three grandchildren, Amy (John) James of Fayetteville, AR, Gatlin (Caitlin) Glover of Peach Tree, City, GA, Caleb Glover of Starkville, MS, and four great grandchildren.
Carolyn was an elementary school teacher for forty-three years. In retirement, she and Marrice ran a greenhouse and market garden at Ward, AR and sold produce and flowers at Little Rock area farmer’s markets.
In 2010, she and Marrice moved to Mississippi to be near her son. They were members at Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021 a 10:00 a.m. at Sylvania Cemetery, Ward. Arrangements by Smith Westbrook Funeral Home. Please go to www.smithfamilycares.com/westbrook to sign the registry.
