Carol Wahnefried

Carol Hagen Wahnefried, 74, of Benton, Arkansas passed away May 17, 2021.  She was born February 24, 1947 in Wyandotte, Michigan to the late Carl and Dorothea (Hagen) Schafer.

Carol retired after teaching many years in preschool and elementary schools.  She loved the Lord and was a member of First Lutheran Church in Benton.  In her spare time, Carol enjoyed reading.  Modern Thrillers were her books of choice.  Carol was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.  Spending time with her family was the highlight of her day.  Carol was an amazing baker.  Her chocolate chip cookie bars were everyone’s favorite dessert.

Carol leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of forty-eight years, Paul Wahnefried of Benton, Arkansas; two children:  Anne Barnard and husband Sean of Benton, Arkansas and Neil Wahnefried and wife Courtney of Rochester, Michigan; two grandsons, Charlie and Michael Barnard; brother, Carl Schafer and wife Sara of Plymouth, Michigan; and many relatives and friends who love Carol and will miss her always.

Visitation will be held from 3:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, May 20, at First Lutheran Church, 18181 I-30 Frontage Rd in Benton, Arkansas.
