Carol Jo Stroope

Carol Jo Stroope, age 72, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021.

Carol was born on November 15, 1948, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Claude J. Marks and Ruth Estelle Kohrs Marks. On July 5, 1979, she married William Sherry Stroope, who preceded her in death October 4, 2016. She is also predeceased by her parents; and three grandchildren, Parker Stroope, Asher Stroope and Avery Stroope.

She graduated from cosmetology school, was a member of the Bonsai Club of Hot Springs and the Hot Springs Beekeepers Club. Carol worked at Walmart #52 for many years before retiring.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Lynn Dickens of Pearcy; her three sons and daughters-in-law, Billy Joe and Brandy Stroope of Commerce City, Colorado, Jeffrey Michael and Shanna Stroope of Austin and Jesse James and Tara Stroope of Bismarck; 14 grandchildren and spouse, Kashif and Felicia Manuel, Kadeem Manuel, Tanasia Manuel, Chance Stroope, Joseph Stroope, Bethany Stroope, Dalton Stroope, Courtney Stroope, Brandon and Shelby Stroope, Laiken Stroope, Hunter and Sarah Edwards, Brett Stroope, Sean Stroope, and Jessica and Glenn Morris; 13 great-grandchildren, Makia Manuel, Malachi Manuel, Drezyin Manuel, Serenity Heimbuck, Xander Stroope, Ruby Stroope, Aurora Stroope, Braxton Stroope, Jillian Morris, Michaella Morris, Mia Stroope, Hunter Maynard, and Brandon Maile; her sister, Barbara Leibham of Bandera, Texas; extended family and a host of wonderful friends.

Services will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at 2:00 PM in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs.

Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.

Interment will be in the Sweet Home Cemetery near Amity.
