Carl R. Jensen age 88 of Arkadelphia died Friday, October 7, 2011 in Malvern. He was born May 8, 1923, the son of the late Carl E. and Jane Rochefort Jensen. Carl was a U. S. Navy World War II veteran. Carl graduated in 1969 from Henderson State University with a Master's degree in Sciences. He taught sciences from1968-1972 at Bismarck Junior and High School. He returned to Henderson and worked in the business office with Student Loans. After retiring from Henderson State University, he worked with the Dawson Education Co-operative as a van driver delivering education materials to area schools. Carl also worked at the Arkadelphia Wal-Mart Store and enjoyed woodworking making porch swings and chairs.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Marion Roberts and one brother, William Jensen.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-eight years, Delores (Dee) Jensen; two daughters, Karen Jensen of Tacoma Washington; Barbara Constantino and husband, Paul of Oak Harbor, Washington; one son, Mark Jensen and wife, Jean of Friendship, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Ehren Buchanan, Matthew Constantino, Morgan Costantino, Asa Orsburn Jensen, Beverly McIntosh and husband, Billy, Cheryl White and April Cohen and husband, Bobby; seven great-grandchildren, Eric Smith, Emily White, Allison McIntosh, Chloe Tosh, Charish White, Mathew McIntosh and Isiah McIntosh.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 11th at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Bob Sanders officiating. Interment will be with military honors. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Alzheimer's Foundation, Arkansas Hospice or to St. Andrew United Methodist Church.
