Carl Hunter
Carl Scott Hunter, Sr., 71, of Little Rock, AR, died Feb. 6, 2018. A native of Little Rock, AR, he was the son of the late Carl Glenn Hunter and Mary Scott Hunter.
He entered the Marine Corps Reserve in 1965, and two years later his eldest son, Carl Scott Hunter, Jr. (Kym) was born. During this time, he worked for Parkin Printing and, raced for British Leyland. In 1971 his youngest son was born, Christopher Briton Hunter (Cindy).
Around 1975 he joined the Grande Maumelle Sailing Club, following which he became an avid racer both locally and off the coast. He then moved to working for Watkins Graphics and later spent a vast amount of time working with his father, Carl Glenn Hunter, on the book Wildflowers of Arkansas.
Scott could frequently be found on his way to or from his favorite fishing spots as he tracked the rise and fall of the water tables to indicate when it was time to go fishing. The first day of dove season typically found him at Ratcliffe Farms, and until just recently, each year he could be found in the duck blinds. If, however, you missed these experiences with him he'd be happy to explain it all to you with in one of his many wonderful tales.
Carl is survived by his wife of 13 years Karen Kittler Hunter; his sons, Scott and Brit; daughter, Jessica Lynne Hunter; one brother, David Hunter; and grandchildren, Kira, Alyssa, Connor, and Riley Hunter.
