Carl Winston Chapman, of Scott, AR. passed away peacefully on February 17th, 2024. He was born in Scott, AR. on January 25, 1944.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Beulah Chapman; wife Katherine Paulette Chapman and by two infant children Melissa Dawn and Clayton Wade Chapman. He was also preceded by three of his brothers; Bobby Chapman, Emmett Chapman (Remonia), and Wendell Chapman.
Carl was a devoted Christian and was a member of the Church at Willow Beach. He was also one of the most considerate, compassionate, giving people and a shining example to his church community.
He served both family and community during his time with the Scott Volunteer Fire Department, where he was the Chief of the Department and one of the founding members. Carl also proudly served his country and was a retired member of the Arkansas National Guard.
Carl also had a long and accomplished career where he wore several hats throughout his lifetime. In his early life he worked for Texas Eastern on pipelines and transitioned to farming with his brother’s in Scott, Arkansas. As times changed, he moved on from farming to being a building contractor and he built several beautiful homes in the Scott area.
Carl eventually gave up contractor work and went on to be employed several more years as a mechanic with Deluxe Video. His career with Deluxe was the last of his professional career and he retired to enjoy family time, outdoor activities (fishing, hunting and gardening), and he focused on being home with Paulette and his beloved dog, Rosco. He was a devoted family man and a loving father to his children. He was the best example of a loving soul for his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Carl is survived by his devoted children Kim Warner (Grant) of Beebe and Clint Chapman (Melonie) of Sherwood; Toril (TJ) Stensrud (Rune) of Norway; grandchildren Amanda Brogan of Beebe, and Clayton Chapman (Windi) of Cabot; and four great-grandchildren and a devoted lifelong friend Carolyn Eanes Koontz.
Carl will be greatly missed by all his loved ones. His kindness and love will forever live in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in eternal peace knowing that he was cherished by many.
A graveside service is planned at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Oak Grove Cemetery, Conway, AR.
