Joe Kyzer, 55, of Sherwood passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2009.
Joe served in the U.S. Navy from 1974 to 1976. Joe installed windows and doors for the family business until just before he joined the North Little Rock Fire Department where he served as Firefighter from April 1982 until he retired December 1996. Joe played golf, baseball, and pool. He and his son built and flew model airplanes and enjoyed fishing together at Bull Shoals. Joe had an amazing green thumb and was very proud of his indoor and outdoor plants, flowers, and vegetable gardens.
He is survived by his son, John Kyzer; ex-wife, Catherine Hickerson, both of North Little Rock; sister, Brenda Zahari and her husband, John of Sherwood; two brothers, Doug Kyzer, of Saltillo and Les Kyzer, of Sherwood; niece, Celia Zahari, of Sherwood; three nephews, Jarrod Zahari, of Sherwood, Jacob and Lucas Kyzer; and many lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.L. "Tub" and Sue Cross Kyzer.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Lung Association, 211 Natural Resources Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205.
