Calvin Isenhower

Horace “Calvin” Isenhower, 97, of Hot Springs, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, February 23, 2023.

He was born on April 8, 1925, the son of Samuel Claude Isenhower and Matilda Mae Chastain Isenhower.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Isenhower, in October of 2021; his parents; and six siblings.

Calvin was an ordained minister with the Missionary Baptist Church and a member of Red Oak Missionary Baptist Church.  He pastored several churches in Southern California, Washington and Arkansas.  He was very outgoing and a jack-of-all-trades.  Calvin enjoyed gardening, working puzzles and fishing.  His love of sharing the gospel with others gave him the opportunity to make friends everywhere he went.  He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Betty Isenhower; four grandchildren and spouses, Melia and Michael Evans, Amanda and Matthew Schieber, Kyle and Christina Isenhower and James and Lacey Mai Isenhower; nine great-grandchildren, Audrey Evens, Kade Schieber, Parker Isenhower, Rayleigh Schieber, Nate Isenhower, Dexter Schieber, Ella Schieber, Avery Evens and Caroline Isenhower; two brothers, Fred Isenhower and William Isenhower; several nieces, nephews, extended family member and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00AM, Thursday, March 2, 2023, with Kyle Isenhower and James Isenhower officiating in the Red Oak Missionary Baptist Church.
