Burl Edsel Jordan

Burl E. Jordan, Sr., 72, of Hazen, Arkansas passed away on December 6, 2023. He was born in Jacksonville, Arkansas on February 13, 1951, to the late Seattle “Buster” Jordan, Sr. and Ida Marie Jordan.

He is preceded in death by his parents; the mother who raised him, Ethel Jordan; and daughter, Michele Annette Chaperon. Burl is survived by his wife, Marilyn Jordan; children, Cyndi Malone, Burl Jordan, Jr., Helen Kanaday, and Robert Jordan; 17 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; son-in-law Darrell Chaperon; along with a host of family and friends. 

Burl was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time fishing. In 2017, he caught a catfish that weighed more than he did! His favorite thing to do in his spare time was to host fish fries for his family and friends. Teaching his grandchildren how to hunt and fish brought him much joy.

Visitation will be from 5:00PM-7:00PM, Monday, December 11, 2023, at Smith-Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 Hwy 107).  A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM, Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at the funeral home with burial following at King Cemetery in Cabot.
