Buford Autrey Newman age 80 of Arkadelphia died Sunday, April 24, 2016. He was born July 19, 1935 in Camden, AR the son of Autrey and Lola Tedford Newman. He was a retired pharmacist, veteran of the U. S. Army and U. S. Air Force, very active in civic affairs and a member of the Harmony Primitive Baptist Church in Donaldson, AR.
He is survived by three daughters, Betsy Smith and her husband Mike of Arkadelphia, Melanie Roberts and her husband Rusty of Caddo Valley, and Tara Pritchard and her husband Mike of the Degray Community, one brother, Ted Newman and his wife Delma of Benton and one sister Bettye Conard of Little Rock, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 AM Tuesday April 26th in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel with Elder Sonny Phelan officiating. Burial will be in the Ouachita Cemetery near Donaldson. Visitation will be 9 AM till service time at the funeral home
Memorials may be to the memorial fund of Harmony Primitive Baptist Church.
