Bro. Bobby Golden

Bro. Bobby Golden, age 87, of Kirby, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023.

He was born on June 8, 1935, in Kirby, the son of Arvil Lee Golden and Winnie Leo Babbit Golden. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maurice Golden; his parents; his daughter-in-law, Dot Golden; his two sisters, Ima Jean Turner and Erma Crump; his brother, Billy Golden; and his three brothers-in-law, Alton Tolleson, Joyce Tolleson, and Sonny Tolleson.

Bro. Bobby married the love of his life, Maurice Tolleson, on June 3, 1955. In 1960, Bobby surrendered his life to the ministry, preaching at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church for a combined 21 years and at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church for 35 years. He was a true pastor, Bobby witnessed to everyone he met and was always willing to serve his church. He loved to hunt, farm his chickens and cows, visit his church members, and traveling. Everyone knew Bro. Bobby’s work ethic, working many jobs including truck driving and carpentry. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and pastor. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bobby is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Mike Golden of Leola, and Randy and Diane Golden of Kirby; his grandchildren and their spouses, Melina and Jeff Lovett of Lawton, Oklahoma, Bevin Lockeby of Fayetteville. Lauran Golden of Kirby, CaSandra Golden of Kirby, Brent and Alana Williams of Sheridan, and Eric and Melanie Harrison of Sheridan; his great-grandchildren Spencer, Jacob, Tyler and Rachel, Anna, Brayden, Kelsey, Caleb, Kady, Alora, and Louie; his great-great-grandchildren, Walker and Evelyn; his “third” son, Danny Britt; his church family; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Kirby with Bro. Brent Williams and Bro. Eric Harrison officiating.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2023, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, 209 North 3^rd Street, Glenwood, AR 71943.

Interment will be in the Bear Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Markham, Danny Britt, Wes Johns, Steve Crump, Clay Crump, Ronnie Whisenhunt, Kevin Golden, Keith Golden, Donnie Lynch, and Danny Turner.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Everett Smith, Walter Turner, Edred Cowart, Derwood Mayo, Mike Putz, Richard Tolleson, Rex Tolleson, Lynn Tolleson, Bruce "Buddy" Chavez, Lana Holder, Fred Cargile, and the loving staff of Glenwood Nursing Home.
