Bridget McElhaney

Bridget Gunter McElhaney, 45, of Austin went to be with the Lord, July 27, 2020.  She was born December 26, 1974 to Vicki Menard Hicks in Little Rock.

Bridget had a servants heart. She served God and her community in various ways, including helping at the local food pantry and establishing a neighborhood crime watch.  Bridget loved animals, and would take in any stray that came her way.  She loved spending time at the river in Mt. View, had a green thumb, enjoyed collecting items from various places, and photography.  She will be remembered for the fierce love she had for her family and friends.

Bridget is preceded in death by her grandparents, Sibley and Ouida Menard and Scoot and Nadine Gunter and father in law Rodney McElhaney.

She is survived by her husband of 22 years Jason, daughter Ariel McElhaney, mother Vicki Hicks (Randy), siblings Stephanie Taylor and Chip Gunter (Kristi), mother in law Sue McElhaney, as well as many other family and friends.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Sixteenth Section Church.  Funeral will be 2:30 PM Friday.  Burial will be in Sixteenth Section Cemetery.  Social distancing guidelines will be strictly adhered to.  Arrangements by Smith – Westbrook Funeral Home.  www.smithfamilycares.com
