Brian Wood

Brian Wendell Wood passed away peacefully on Monday, August 3, 2015. Brian was born on April 3, 1971 in North Little Rock, AR to his parents Brenda Jo Moore and Wendell Wayne Wood. Brian grew up in Beebe, AR where he attended school and went on to have a career in the heating and air industry. Brian was a die hard Arkansas Razorback fan, and an avid Nascar fan. He also loved to hunt, fish and play golf. Brian is survived by his wife Becky, their dog Charlie, brother Randy Strickland (Jennifer), 4 nieces and nephews, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Brian was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his beloved dogs Barney and Sandy.
In 2006, Brian had a car accident that left him a quadriplegic. Over the past 8 years Brian showed strength and determination that many of us wondered if we would have within our own selves. Although we don't always know why things happen in our lives, there's no doubt that Brian brought people to have stronger relationships with Christ, stronger prayer lives, and more awareness of even the smallest of blessings we are given by God!
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral service is 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at Smith-Westbrook Chapel, with burial in Butlerville Cemetery.
The family requests that memorials are made in Brian's honor to the Arkansas Spinal Cord Commission. 1501 N. University Ave. Little Rock, AR 72207. The family would like to sincerely thank everyone for their continued support and prayers as Brian strived to recover from spinal cord injury.
