Brian Gregory Hackett

Brian Gregory Hackett, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on August 14, 2023.  Brian was born on January 17, 1973, in Omaha, Nebraska.

Brian is preceded in death by his stepfather, Loren Larsen.  Brian is survived by his wife Jennifer Edrington Hackett, daughter Sara Hackett Santos and husband, Daniel, son, Coty Hackett, stepdaughter, Emily Rigsby and husband, Will, stepdaughter, Ashlee Payne and husband Drew, grandchildren, Tinsley, Evelyn, Collin and Ash, mother, Linda Buess and husband, Bob, father Jim Hackett and wife, Mary Kay, sister, Melanie Hodges and husband, Jason, nephews Austin Hodges and Jayson Hodges, niece Riley Hodges and many friends and co-workers.

After serving in the US Navy, Brian worked as an engineer in plastics manufacturing for many years.  He achieved numerous successes and made valuable contributions in his field.  His passion for mentoring others was just one of the many contributions Brian made to his employers and the many people he worked alongside for many years.

Beyond his professional life, Brian’s passions included watching his son, Coty play baseball and basketball and his daughter, Sara cheer and dance when they were young and traveling and exploring new places with his wife, Jennifer. The grandchildren shared a very special place in his heart.  He showered them with love and affection, enjoying watching them grow.  These memories will be cherished by the family.

Brian was a member of the Outcast Hunting Club and an avid deer hunter.  His favorite place in the world was in the woods or sharing stories in camp around a fire with friends and family.

Those who were fortunate enough to know Brian recognized him as not only a man of integrity and strength but also as someone with a heart as deep as his resonant voice.  His voice commanded attention, yet exuded warmth and compassion that made everyone feel at ease in his presence.

Brian leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and dedication.  He will be deeply missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

A memorial service will be held from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on September 28, 2023, at The Vine Brewing Company in Tyler Texas.
