Brent Rook

Brent Rook a.k.a. Bird, 63, a lifelong citizen of Sherwood, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2019. He was born July 6, 1956 in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Until his recent retirement, he worked for Harbor/Glazer’s Distributors for a career spanning over thirty five years.  He was an avid fisherman, keeper of turtles, and sports enthusiast. Brent was a 1975 graduate of Sylvan Hills High School, where he excelled as a multiple sport athlete.   He also graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Education from Henderson State University in 1981, where he was a member of the Reddies baseball team.

He is survived by his wife, Suzi Rook; daughter, Amber Lee Eltrich; grandchildren, Jeffery and Porscha; step sons, Nick (Kathryn) Bowren; Britt (Tory) Bowren; sister, Dreama Wyman; nephew, Joshua Miller; niece, Holly Warren; and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Laverne Rook and father, Herbert D. Rook.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sylvan Hills Optimist Club, 411 Dee Jay Hudson Drive, Sherwood, Arkansas 72120, 501-835-5583, www.sylvanhillsbaseball.org.

A Celebration of his Life will be held at Park Hill Christian Church at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2019, followed by a visitation.  Due to Brent’s love of sports and the Razorbacks, his family welcomes casual dress and Razorback attire.
