Brenda Kyzer Perry, 74, of Sherwood, went to be with the Lord, January 5th, 2023. She was born on November 29th, 1948, in Jacksonville, Arkansas to Samuel and Mamie Nell Kyzer. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Billie Kyzer, Charles Kyzer and Larry “Bo” Kyzer, sister Doris J. “Cookie” Mitts and grandson Noah Hoeppner. She is survived by her husband Phillip Perry, her daughter Kelli Hoeppner (Mike), her sons Jerry Agnew, Jr. (Kim) and Michael Agnew, her sisters Betty Sue Inman, Kay Foster, Debbie Kyzer and her brothers Jimmy Kyzer, Bobby Kyzer, Donny Kyzer and Ronnie “Tiny” Kyzer. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jessica Donaldson (Greg), Sean Hoeppner (Kathleen), Hannah Hoeppner (Devon), Kerstin Agnew, Zachary Agnew, Hadley Ezell, Brooklyn Agnew, and Taylor Agnew and her great-grandchildren Isaac Donaldson, Adeline Donaldson and Dekari Webster as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Brenda spent her work life until she retired as a beautician. She loved doing hair. She loved her clients and having gossip sessions with them while she fixed them up. It wasn’t uncommon at a family gathering for Brenda to be cutting someone’s hair while she was there. Growing up in a large family there were lots of family gatherings. In Brenda’s prime she enjoyed going out and dancing the night away and often went out with her sisters. Brenda could also bowl a mean game and was in a bowling league for many years. A bowling tournament in Texarkana is how she ended up meeting her husband of 31 years, Phil Perry. She loved her children with all her heart, but her grandchildren and great grandchildren were perfect to her and were her light and joy.
Brenda joined the Catholic Church and was baptized in 1966 and at the time of her death she was a member of St. Patrick’s in North Little Rock.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm on Tuesday January 10th, at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, North Little Rock. Service will also be held at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home at 10:30 am on Wednesday, January 11th. Burial for family will follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. Immediately following the burial there will be a gathering for family and friends at St. Patrick’s Parish Center, 211 W. 19th St., North Little Rock hosted by the Ladies Guild.
