Bonnie L. Shane age 81 of Arkadelphia died Monday May 19, 2008. She was born September 4, 1926 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Elzie and Lillie Drake Gaston. She was a bookkeeper for the State Bank in Winfield, Kansas for twenty-five years, resided in Winfield, Kansas for forty years moving to the Shell Knob, Missouri area after retirement. Mrs. Shane and her husband, Edgar loved camping, the Table Rock Lake area, their family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After her husband's death in 2004 she moved to Arkadelphia, Arkansas where she became a member of the Hollywood United Methodist Church and was active with her church family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Lee Shane and one daughter, Ronnie Hamilton.

Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Lea Van den Berghe and her husband, Bob of Arkadelphia; one son, Michael Shane and his wife, Debbie of Derby, Kansas; one sister, Betty Adams of Woodward, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Lisa Drouhard, Kendra Hauber and husband, Robert, Wade Chapman, Ryan Chapman and wife Jessie, and Jennifer Peterman and husband, Chris; two step-grandchildren, Greg Van den Berghe and wife, Jennifer, and Melissa Huff and husband, Tony; twelve great-grandchildren and five step great -grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, May 23, 2008 at Miles Funeral Service Chapel in Winfield, Kansas with Rev. Debbie Perry officiating.
Interment will be in Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Thursday at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Sunday, June 1, 2008 at Hollywood United Methodist Church in Hollywood, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society or to the Hollywood United Methodist Church % Carolyn McAnally 1381 Hwy 26 West, Arkadelphia, AR. 71923.
