Bonnie Davis

Bonnie Davis, age 92, of Umpire, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2016, at her home. She was born on June 24, 1924 in the Fendley community of Clark County, the daughter of William Woodall and Carrie Carlie Sheets Woodall. On July 25, 1944, she was married to Johnny Austin Davis who preceded her in death on November 10, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Randy Woodall and Junior Woodall; two sisters, Nadine Kloppin and Louise Huddleston; a special daughter-in-law, Linda Davis; and a special friend, Mabel Strasner. She was a member of the Umpire Free Holiness Church. A homemaker, she loved to quilt and spend time with her family. She enjoyed going to church and reading her Bible. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny Ray and Janet Davis of Umpire and Donnie and Pat Davis of Ashdown; her daughter and son-in-law, Debby and Paul Boswell of Umpire; two sisters, Wanda Allen of Shreveport. Louisiana and Gladys Palmer of Shelby, North Carolina; two granddaughters and their spouses, Tammy and Duane Crawford and Nancy and Vencent Trantham; three great-grandchildren, Breanna Harkleroad and her husband, Preston, Aubrey Crawford and Caroline Trantham; her great-great-grandson who's still on the way, Samuel Harkleroad; nine step-grandchildren; twelve step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her caregivers, Ellen Krantz, Lova Cook and Pauline Tipton. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 20, 2016, in the Umpire Free Holiness Church with Bro. Don Vaughn and Bro. Steve Green officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery at Umpire under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Duane Crawford, Vencent Trantham, Scott Vaughn, Tim Pinkerton, Danny McGrew and Butch Morris. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Greene, Junior Allen, Raymond Faulkner and the nurses and staff of Ouachita Hospice and Elite Home Health.
