Bonnie Brents

Bonnie Brents

Bonnie “Meeps” Elizabeth Holsclaw Brents was born August 3, 1933, to Andrew and Flo (Wainscott) Holsclaw in Madison, IN. She grew up in Morrilton, Arkansas and moved to North Little Rock when she married her husband Burlen Brents of 65 years, they had four children: Scott Brents, Helen Brents, Charlotte Garcia (Robert) and Janice Starkey (Frank).

Bonnie loved shopping and would never miss an opportunity to go, and it didn’t matter if it was a discount store, flea market or Main Street there was always the possibility of a bargain. During the 2020 year of Covid she couldn’t go shopping, church or around others but she and Helen kept the road hot every weekend…many adventures with no direction happened that year!!

She was most happy when she was with her family.  She was a Brownie & Girl Scout Leader, PTA President and involved in any other activity that her children participated in.  She was active in the Youth as NYI President and Missions as the Missionary President for Grace Church of the Nazarene where she also served as church organist.  After many years she and her family moved membership to Brockington Road Church of the Nazarene in Sherwood where she continued to serve her Lord and Savior.  She was an avid supporter of Neighbors United for Levy and served them as secretary for 15 years and secretary for the Levy Substation for the North Little Rock Police Department for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her grandson Kelsey Starkey. She was lovingly known as “Meeps” by her granddaughters; Merrit Davis (Josh), Brooke George (Ty), adopted granddaughter Kalpana Jo Sharma (Sanjay Kolhe) and her great grandchildren, Greer and Kobie Napier, Hadley Davis and Gray and Scarlett George and we can’t forget her little dog Jackson who was by her side to the end.

Special thanks to Baptist Hospice for their exceptional care of our mother and love for our family.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 28, 2021 at Brockington Road Church of the Nazarene.  Interment will be at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 8, 2021.
