Bobby Earl Cummings, 81, of El Paso, Arkansas, was gently welcomed into the arms of Jesus surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. He was born April 11, 1939 in Austin, Arkansas to the late Benjamin Tillman and Effie Mae (Shock) Cummings. Bobby was in the furniture manufacturing business from the age of 22, eventually owning Sherwood Furniture Manufacturing Company of Jacksonville, the largest furniture manufacturing company in the state of Arkansas. He also owned Shiloh Furniture Manufacturing in Judsonia before retiring in May of 2002. He designed, produced and sold the furniture through these companies.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James Melvin Cummings, and brother-in-law David Wayne Smith.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandi Cummings; the mother of his children Lucy Cummings, daughter Debbie (Steve) Roofener of Conway; son, Bryan Keith Cummings of Conway; sister Charlotte (Ogden) Berry of Little Rock; grandchildren, Kristen (J.P.) Sellers, James Steven Roofener II; great-grandchildren Eli Sellers, Lulu Sellers, and Brooks Roofener. He helped in raising his niece and nephew, Niki Ballentine (Jason) and Matt Everett. He will also be missed by a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to thank Hospice Home Care for the wonderful care they provided. He was lovingly cared for by his great-niece Cameron Holmes.
Visitation will be 9:00-10:00 a.m. Friday, February 5, 2021 at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe, followed by funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Sixteenth Section Cemetery. Arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home. www.smithfamilycares.com
