Bobby Ray Thornton was born on June 27, 1956 in Redland, Arkansas to the union of Jessie and Fredella Marie Thornton. Bobby was the eldest of seven children. He attended Eudora School District from K-12, graduating in 1974. He later attended a technical college, majoring in computer technology.
Bobby met the love of his life, Mary Ellen, in 1977 and later conjoined in matrimony on March 18, 1985. Together they had three daughters and one son. Bobby was dedicated to work and worked tirelessly to provide for his family throughout the years.
Bobby attended St. Mark Baptist Church, having made many friends and leaving a tremendous impact on the world through his outgoing personality, sense of humor, and kind heart. At a young age he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He continued to keep his faith strong as a foundation of his character throughout the rest of his life.
Bobby had many hobbies, most of which took place in the outdoors. He and his wife, Mary Ellen, annually hunted game of various types. He also loved fishing. Bobby’s presence will be missed tremendously by all who knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mary Thornton; children, Amber Thornton, Elizabeth and Alfred Boyd, Catherine Thornton, and Robert Thornton; grandchildren, Alfred Boyd, Jr., Jaylin Boyd, Ah’Tiyanna Boyd and Brandon Thornton; and a host of brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, other family and friends.
