Bobby Joe Thomason, a.k.a. B.J., age 78, of Hot Springs passed away peacefully in his sleep at home with his wife and son early morning on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. He was born July 30, 1946 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to the late Judson Givens and Ruby Estell (Golden) Thomason. Bobby was a Missionary Baptist and was a Marine Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He volunteered to serve and chose to be a Marine. Bobby never met a stranger. He loved in this order, God, Family, and country. Anyone who knew Bobby knew of his giving nature and compassionate heart. He would always lend a helping hand to anyone that asked because anyone that knew him knew that he was a jack-of-all-trades and master of none. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Judson Givens and Ruby Estell (Golden) Thomason; and his sister, Edith May Anderson.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Kay Thomason of Hot Springs; son, Robert Dale Thomason of Hot Springs; sister, Kathy Lynn Thrash of Fountain Lake; uncle, Billy Thomason of Alpine; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews who miss him dearly.
Memorial services are 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 7, 2025 at the Alpine Cemetery Chapel with Brother Billy Thomason officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Alpine Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
